This Friday Cat Smith MP visited the Citizens Advice offices to meet with us and to hear our concerns about the cost of living crisis, especially for those on fixed incomes.

Cat also met with our Advice Matters team leader Karen Gilbertson who explained about the work that her team do in the community to help and support clients who need more than just a single advice session. She explained about the outreach events that go on, and how Citizens Advice have regular stalls in shopping centres in Lancaster and across the District so that residents can chat informally to advisers.

We also talked about our reaction to the Chancellor's Spring Statement, and explained how we were worried that a 3.1% increase in benefits and pensions may leave some people behind, and struggling to cope as inflation rises.

We told Cat about our fantastic volunteers and the value that they bring to our service and she expressed her thanks to all our team for the work that they do.

Thank you to Cat for her support of our service and for coming to see us!
